Giants of After School
Teach with us · Applications open for Term 4

Teach once. Get paid every month it is watched.

Record a course on your own schedule, run a live session or two a week if you want to, and earn from every subscriber studying your subject — not from the hours you happen to be free.

Applications take about ten minutes. Police clearance is required before anything you record goes live.

R38 / mo per active student studying your subject, on the per-student model
R1 800 per published lesson on the per-video model, paid on acceptance

Commission

Two ways to be paid. Pick one per course.

Both are written into your contract before you record anything, and both are paid by EFT on the 7th of every month with a statement showing exactly how the figure was reached.

Model A Most tutors choose this

Per student enrolled

You earn a share of every subscription attributed to a subject you teach, every month that learner keeps studying it. Attribution follows watch time, so a learner studying three of your courses counts three times.

Rate per active student R38 / month
Counts as active from 3 lessons watched
Live sessions you run + R450 each
Paid Monthly, ongoing
Model B Paid up front

Per video published

A flat fee per lesson we accept into the library, paid within fourteen days of acceptance, plus a small royalty for as long as the lesson is watched. Best if you want to record a block of work and be done.

Fee per accepted lesson R1 800
Royalty R0.60 / view
Rights Licensed, not sold
Paid 14 days, then monthly

What it comes to

Students studying your subject 120 students
A Grade 11 Maths course typically reaches 90 to 250 active learners a term.
Share who stay active each month 60%
Term-time average across the platform sits near 60%.
Estimated monthly
R2 736
Recurring for as long as those learners keep studying your subject.

An estimate, not an offer. Real earnings depend on how many subscribers study your subject and how much of the course they finish. We show every tutor their live figures weekly, and the median full-time tutor on Model A earned R14 200 a month last term.

Paid on the 7th
By EFT into a South African account, with a statement itemising every student or view the figure is built from.
You keep the rights
You license your lessons to us. You may not sell the same recordings to a competing platform while the contract runs.
No exclusivity on you
Keep your school post, your private students and your own tutoring practice. We contract for the courses, not for you.
Leave with notice
One month written notice. Recorded lessons stay licensed for twelve months after, and you keep earning on them.
Vetting

Five steps, and nothing publishes until step four clears

Parents pay us on the strength of this process, so we do not shorten it for anyone. Most applications take two to three weeks end to end, and the police clearance is usually what sets the pace.

What we look for

Subject depth, plainly explained

A degree in the subject, or equivalent standing such as chief marking or moderating experience.
Three or more years teaching the level you are applying for.
The habit of explaining method rather than announcing answers.
Willingness to be marked: a trial lesson, and moderation of your first course.
What you do not need

A studio, or a following

A camera, a microphone or a room that looks like a studio.
An audience, a following, or any social media presence at all.
Full-time availability — most of our tutors teach at a school during the day.
Editing skills. Our team cuts, captions and publishes.
We record the first course with you

Our production team books a room in Cape Town, Durban or Johannesburg, or sends a kit and talks you through it if you are further out. You bring the subject knowledge.

Apply

Ten minutes, and a real person reads it

We reply to every application within five working days, including the ones we turn down — and we say why.

A subject lead reads it, not a filter
No keyword screening and no automated rejection. If we say no, we tell you which part fell short.
Clearance is not a dealbreaker
Most applicants do not hold a current one. We arrange and pay for it — it just sets the timeline.
You choose your commission model
And you can move a future course onto the other model at renewal.
